Heroic Gesture Turns Frightening
Former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani, 81, was seriously injured in a high-speed rear-end collision in New Hampshire on Saturday evening. The wreck occurred after he stopped to assist a woman who flagged him down for help—claiming to be a victim of domestic violence. Giuliani called 911 and remained on-site until law enforcement arrived.([turn0news15], [turn0news20])
Critical Injuries, But Optimistic Outlook
Giuliani sustained a fractured thoracic vertebrae, multiple lacerations and contusions, particularly to his left arm and lower leg. He was transported to a trauma center and remains hospitalized in “good spirits,” according to his spokesman Michael Ragusa. He is expected to stay in the hospital 2 to 3 days and will wear a back brace during recovery.([turn0news15], [turn0news29])
No Evidence of Foul Play
Officials emphasized that the incident was not a targeted attack. Giuliani was driving a rental car—and not identifiable at the time of the collision. Public speculation has been discouraged by his security team.(
