Kay Flock Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison

Bronx drill rapper Kay Flock, real name Kevin Perez, has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison following convictions related to racketeering, attempted murder and gang‑related violence. His once‑promising music career is effectively over.

Bronx drill rapper Kay Flock, whose real name is Kevin Perez, has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison after being convicted on multiple charges tied to gang violence and a string of shootings in his Bronx neighborhood. The sentence was handed down on December 16, 2025, by U.S. District Judge Lewis J. Liman.

Perez, now 22, was convicted in March 2025 of racketeering conspiracy, attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon in aid of racketeering, and firearms offenses. Prosecutors linked his actions to violent gang activity tied to a group known as “Sev Side/DOA,” arguing that he used violence to assert influence and advance his music career.

During sentencing, Judge Liman criticized Perez for glorifying violence and failing to show genuine remorse. Liman noted social media posts in which Perez boasted about his legal outcomes, writing phrases such as “KILL ALL RATS” after testimony from gang members. The judge described Perez as a “man of promise” whose actions nonetheless contributed to a cycle of violence, injuring or endangering numerous Bronx residents.

Perez’s defense asked for a lighter sentence, citing his upbringing and youth, but the judge maintained that a long term was necessary given the severity of the offenses and the message sent by his conduct. Perez will also face a period of supervised release after serving his term.

Once a rising star in the drill rap scene with tracks that garnered millions of streams, Kay Flock’s career has now been overshadowed by his criminal convictions and lengthy prison
