Major Court Victory for Young Thug
In a significant legal win, a Fulton County judge has ruled that Grammy-winning rapper Young Thug (real name Jeffery Williams) must be returned an extensive collection of luxury vehicles, nearly $150,000 in cash, and a selection of jewelry originally seized during his 2022 racketeering arrest.
Legal Technicality Sealed the Deal
Williams’ legal team argued that Georgia law requires prosecutors to hold a civil forfeiture hearing within 60 days of a court-ordered cease—or request a continuance for good cause—neither of which occurred. Judge Paige Whitaker found no option but to dismiss the forfeiture case based on that procedural lapse.
Assets on Their Way Back
Here’s what’s being returned to Young Thug:
- Cash: $149,426
- Luxury Vehicles:
- 2022 Chevrolet Corvette
- 2022 Porsche 911
- Mercedes-Benz (GLS Maybach, AMG GTs)
- 2018 Lamborghini Aventador
- 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee
- 2021 Dodge Durango
- 2015 Can-Am Spyder
- Jewelry: Assorted pieces not tied to alleged gang activity
Authorities will retain firearms and certain YSL-branded items considered connected to criminal activity.
DA Office May Appeal
Fulton County prosecutors described the decision as “perplexing” and are currently evaluating whether to file an appeal.
