Florida State University freshman linebacker Ethan Pritchard was shot in the back of the head on Sunday night while driving his aunt home near Havana, Florida, just outside Tallahassee. The incident occurred shortly after the vehicle turned a corner, as recounted by Pritchard’s father in an interview with WFTV.
Hospital Update: Stable but Critical
Pritchard remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition in the ICU. Doctors are actively monitoring swelling in his head and carefully assessing his response to treatment.
Team and Community Support
FSU head coach Mike Norvell visited Pritchard in the hospital and continues to communicate regularly with his family, offering emotional support to both the young athlete and his teammates. Pritchard did not participate in FSU’s season-opening win against No. 8 Alabama.
