FSU Linebacker Ethan Pritchard Shot in Head—Father Confirms Stable Condition

Shooting Shock Sets FSU Community on Edge

Florida State University freshman linebacker Ethan Pritchard was shot in the back of the head on Sunday night while driving his aunt home near Havana, Florida, just outside Tallahassee. The incident occurred shortly after the vehicle turned a corner, as recounted by Pritchard’s father in an interview with WFTV.

Hospital Update: Stable but Critical

Pritchard remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition in the ICU. Doctors are actively monitoring swelling in his head and carefully assessing his response to treatment.

Team and Community Support

FSU head coach Mike Norvell visited Pritchard in the hospital and continues to communicate regularly with his family, offering emotional support to both the young athlete and his teammates. Pritchard did not participate in FSU’s season-opening win against No. 8 Alabama.

Investigation Underway

The shooting is currently being investigated by the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office and state law enforcement, with authorities urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.

Family’s Request

The Pritchard family has expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of public support and the unwavering care from emergency responders and medical staff. They’ve also requested continued respect for their privacy during this difficult time.
