NBA Legend Paul Pierce Arrested After Being Found Asleep in Middle of Freeway


Former Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce was arrested late Tuesday night on suspicion of driving under the influence after California Highway Patrol officers found him asleep behind the wheel of his Range Rover on the 101 Freeway.

  • The incident unfolded around 10:38 p.m. on October 7, 2025, when officers investigating a separate multi‑vehicle crash noticed Pierce’s SUV blocking lanes.  
  • CHP approached the vehicle and found Pierce asleep in the driver’s seat. Signs of alcohol impairment led to a DUI investigation.
