Metro Boomin Faces Civil Rape Trial Over 2016 Allegations, Denies Claims

Grammy‑nominated producer Metro Boomin (real name Leland Tyler Wayne) is currently on trial in Los Angeles after being sued by Vanessa LeMaistre, who alleges he raped her in 2016. Metro denies all claims, calling them an attempt at extortion.

What the Plaintiff Alleges

  • LeMaistre claims that during a 2016 encounter, she ingested a half dose of Xanax and had some alcohol while at Metro’s studio. She says she lost consciousness and later awoke with Metro on top of her, unable to consent.
  • She further alleges that the encounter left her traumatized, and that she later discovered she was pregnant, leading her to have an abortion.
  • In her testimony, LeMaistre says she didn’t realize earlier that “consent” includes situations where someone is incapacitated. She says she began to understand the nature of the alleged assault during therapeutic sessions involving ayahuasca.
  • Among her claims is that Metro’s 2017 track “Rap Saved Me” contains lyrics referencing her alleged situation:
“She took a Xanny, then she fainted…”

Metro Boomin’s Defense & Courtroom Developments

  • Metro’s legal team rejects the claims as baseless and accuses the accuser of pursuing a “shakedown.”
  • He plans to testify in his own defense and has expert witnesses lined up to challenge LeMaistre’s credibility and psychological claims.
  • Tensions emerged in court when LeMaistre’s attorneys requested a mistrial, accusing the defense of improperly referencing her past sexual history during opening arguments.
  • The judge is expected to rule on that motion before continuing, and the case is scheduled to move forward with further testimony and deliberations.

What to Watch

  • Whether the court grants the mistrial motion or allows the trial to continue as is
  • Metro’s cross‑examination and whether he takes the stand
  • The strength of LeMaistre’s evidence, including medical records, communications, or corroborating testimony
  • The ultimate verdict and any potential civil damages awarded
