Reality Star’s Estranged Husband Killed in Tragic Texas Car Accident

Jamar Champ, the estranged husband of reality star Masika Kalysha (known for her role on Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood), has died in a fatal car crash in Houston, Texas. He was 38 years old.

What Happened

  • According to the Houston Police Department, the accident occurred just after midnight on October 28 , 2025, on the Katy Freeway (West Interstate 10). A silver BMW was traveling the wrong way in the eastbound lanes when it collided head‑on with Champ’s Tesla Cybertruck.
  • The impact caused the BMW to catch fire and Champ’s vehicle then struck an 18‑wheeler, which was unsurprisingly a catastrophic chain reaction. Both the BMW driver and Champ died at the scene or shortly after.
  • Masika Kalysha (who had publicly stated they were separated and undergoing mediation) asked for privacy and urged the public not to circulate details prematurely, citing concern for their children.

Why It’s Important

  • The accident underscores the dangers of wrong‑way driving and the devastating consequences that can quickly unfold even on major highways.
  • For Kalysha and her family, this loss comes amid a period of personal change and public visibility, amplifying emotional and logistical challenges as she balances grief, children and personal life.
  • The story draws attention to how reality stars and their families handle private tragedy under intense public scrutiny.
