Young Thug Breaks Silence on Leaked Jail Calls and His Beef with Gunna During Big Bank Interview

Setting the Record Straight

In a raw and emotional sit-down with Atlanta media figure Big Bank (Big Facts), Young Thug defended himself amid a swirl of leaked jail phone calls that have fractured relationships across the YSL rap circle. He emphasized that private, emotional venting—not betrayal—lies behind the leaks. “I ain’t never been a n***a to talk about nobody else in my life on the phone with nobody else,” Thug stated, insisting the conversations were coping mechanisms, not backstabbing confessions.

Jail Calls: Real Feelings, Raw Reality

Thug acknowledged that the unsettling audio clips—surfacing from nearly three years of incarceration—revealed a man under immense psychological pressure. “This shit just like a fun moment in the memes on the internet,” he said, adding that the fallout has been traumatizing, stirring painful memories and even distressing his girlfriend.

Gunna: A Broken Bond

The leak reignited one of hip-hop’s highest-profile dissolutions: Young Thug’s fallout with former collaborator Gunna. In the Big Bank interview, Thug framed their estrangement around a legal and emotional rift that began during the YSL RICO case. He accused Gunna of profiting off young artists, allegedly charging underage signees $2,500 to release songs—an act Thug deemed exploitative and disloyal.

Further back, during jail calls with 21 Savage, Thug shared that Gunna’s plea deal fractured the trust between them. He claimed that the legal maneuvers painted YSL as a criminal organization—deepening the divide.
