Federal Judge Rejects R. Kelly’s “Extreme” Request
R. Kelly recently suffered another blow in court when U.S. District Judge Martha Pacold denied his motion to disqualify the entire U.S. Attorney’s Office from his cases. The motion was described as “extreme” and “drastic,” with the judge emphasizing it lacked credible evidence. R. Kelly had alleged misconduct by a former prosecutor, but the judge noted that the individual no longer works with the office and that no current misconduct was shown.
Supreme Court Declines Appeal
In June, the Supreme Court rejected R. Kelly’s appeal of his racketeering and sex trafficking convictions—reinforcing his lengthy prison sentences under the RICO and Mann Act laws. This upholds both his convictions and the decades-long sentence he’s currently serving.
